Using post it notes to boost efficiency

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 | shopping | No Comments

With all the pressures of work and the need to get things done, efficiency can go a long ways in saving headaches and money in the long run. Key to having good overall productivity is having a simple and effective organizational method for running your office. Having a system that is easy and convenient for both you and your employees is crucial.

For example, binders often work better than loose folders of paper, cause less of a mess is they are dropped and can be filed on bookshelves by contents so that if someone in the office needs to looks something up or reference something then they can easily do it.

Consider using binding supplies for presentations, both for customers and employee training. Employees can have a designated training binder where they can file all the necessary information from training sessions and are much more likely to keep track of binders than they are loose pages.

Using post it notes can be a great way to add a personal note onto a memo or to notify someone that something needs to be done or that a part of the project is complete. Post it notes are also useful for brainstorming sessions as many people can write information and ideas down at once and the person leading the brainstorming session can arrange the notes into categories and rearrange them as needed, which is much more efficient than writing something on the white board and then having to erase and rewrite it if it needs to be moved to a different category.

The important thing to do is to think creatively about how the office supplies you already use can be better used to increase efficiency and communication. Staples and other office supplies such as thumb tacks can be used for hanging posters and visual aids, but they can also serve other purposes as well. Remember that no matter how you organize, it needs to be as simple as possible while fulfilling the needs of your staff so they can fulfill the needs of your customer.

All About Creating Custom Jewelry

Saturday, November 15th, 2008 | Shopping,Fashion,Budget | No Comments

Your great sense of style and creativity would be a great asset for you if you consider going into the custom jewelry construction business. Customers will soon flood you with phone calls if you do a good job, requesting you to create special pieces for them or as gifts. This is an easy task if you have the necessary creativity and talent to create custom jewelry pieces. The goal is to create exclusive pieces that will make your client feel special.

Jewelry

It is actually not easy to work with clients because it is very hard to match the picture in your mind with that in their minds. If you want to avoid the possibility of losing a client, never construct a piece while they are watching because you will be teaching them how easy it is to do it without you! Only by discussing closely with clients can you design custom jewelry that matches their personality. It would be proper for you to find out all about the persons for whom the jewelry piece is to be designed if the piece is to be given to them as gifts. Remember that uniqueness and exclusivity are the keys to making this type of business successful - but great communication with the clients is vitally important as well.

Many clients will want you to make custom jewelry using stones or gems that they already have. You may be required to repair a piece that your clients already have. Before you agree to do the work make sure you have the required ability to do it otherwise you may damage their jewelry. Find out all you can about the piece and what special meaning, if any, it holds for the owner.

Of course, you will purchase the pieces that you need to make the custom jewelry from wholesale resources. Make sure you are buying quality parts especially from sources of unique jewelry making supplies - imported pieces are great sources although you will have to quote your client a price in advance. Since surely you do not want to lose money, once you have quoted a price, allow up to thirty percent to be deducted from it. You must budget properly between your profits and allocation to buy supplies for making your custom jewelry.

The Importance of Flea Markets

Sunday, May 18th, 2008 | Article | No Comments

If you are to make the most of your day at the flea market, it is imperative that you plan your visit meticulously. Wear comfortable, loose clothing for the day. To make things easier, bring along a trolley or a shopping cart. It would be inconvenient for you to carry around the things you purchased if you do not bring along a cart or a trolley.

Flea Market

Without a good pair of walking shoes your feet can easily get tired and force you to end the day early. Starting your visit from the very end of the vendors and working your way forward is a good strategy to avoid getting tired early. You will have a wider choice of new products if you start at the back. Flea markets may have been offered on weekends only but now we find them even on weekdays. The number of vendors and visitors to the flea market is generally lower during the week. Getting the best price deal is always a roll of the dice at flea markets. It is normal to bargain for the best price.

If you want the best stuff, arrive early. If you already know which goods you want to get, this is the best way to do it. But be prepared to pay a higher price in you shop in the morning.

The end of the day, vendors will be lenient towards prices as they wish to sell off whatever that is still remaining. You can be sure vendors prefer to bring in money than to bring home items from the day’s selling. Sometimes it is good to wait at the end of the day to get a lower price. Do not do this if you need the item hard enough, you could lose it to some one else.

Instead, try negotiating the lowest price you can get. Ask the vendor directly the lowest possible price they would accept,Ask the lowest price possible and see if you can agree with that. See if they could find the price you are offering to be acceptable. It is good if you hold the money in your hand when bargaining, they often find it hard to let you walk away without taking it away from you at the price you had asked.
