I saw this at Janet's blog, and as I left my name for her, I MUST participate. I MUST! So it is written. Here goes:
Leave your name in my blog comments. Once you do that, this is what I'll do for you...
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. (if possible!)
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. If you do this you MUST post this on yours. You MUST. It is written.
Also be sure to come BACK and check out what I wrote in response for you!
Dude, it's been so freaking long! I know it's time to come back when I'm drafting a post in my head about pudding. I kid you not!
It's been so long, in fact, that I distinctly heard my blog creak when I logged in to post an entry. Birds flew out and I had to wipe away the cobwebs and the dust. I haven't written a thing since September. It's a shame, really.
I wish I could say that I've been taking time away from computer-land and living my life, but really it's quite the opposite. Most of my time is dedicated to my day job. It's a lot of work, but I do love it so. When I'm not doing that I'm keeping up A Girl Must Shop which has grown 7-fold since July. I love that, too.
And what little time is left is spent with Mr. Jimbo, the chickens, Janet, family and friends. And the occasional fashion show ;) Poor, poor me, I know! Life would be just about perfect if there were about 6 more hours each day and an extra day on the weekend. That's all I'm asking - it ain't that much!
It's coming up to about 14 months until the wedding Jimbo and I have been busy planning. We've got the church, reception, cake, favors, DJ, photographer and the dress! We're meeting with my "aunt" Mary to talk honeymoon destinations tomorrow.
Then there's the florist, the transport, the favors, etc... but I'm thrilled that we're ahead of the game.
What else? Oh, I've got an advanced copy of Jodi Picoult's new book, Change of Heart
. It comes out March 4. Pre-order it now!
So this weekend Mr. Bo and I visited our family travel agent - Aunt Mary. Not really an aunt, but close enough to merit the title. You know the ones I'm talking about!
On the way there I warned Jimbo that Mary might bring up some funny stories about how I peed my pants at the Park Street Diner and would spontaneously spout, "We will, we will, ROCK YOU!" Yes, my friends I musta been two or three. And Queen rocks the house. So yeah, Mary told the story about three times and continued to call me Megan pee-pee pants. Sweet.
Onto honeymoon planning. We told Mary we wanted something tropical, with nice beaches, a nice hotel, lots of stuff to do - hiking, snorkeling, horseback riding, shopping, drinking. The usual. Being an expert on every known destination on the planet earth, Mary suggested Punta Cana (Which I like to think of as Punta Caca because that's my maturity level, people), and Jamaica. We checked out some all-inclusives and I think we're leaning toward Punta Caca.
And today is Valentine's Day. Happy Valentine's Day! Jimbo and I went out for dinner since neither of us enjoy crowds and waiting. Having worked for an upscale restaurant I also know first-hand that the best food and service is NOT to be had on a busy holiday.
So he took me to the Bedford Village Inn (which we had been on a recent birthday for Jimbo) and we had quite the lovely time. We ordered a bottle of Gloria Ferrer champagne and shared with the waitress our visit to the Sonoma vineyard, then ordered our meal and waited quite a bit for our appetizers. It wasn't so bad, except that we saw that other tables were getting bread when they first sat down and also received a special chef's appetizer which we were not offered.
I had the foie gras for an app, and Janet would have loved it - very tasty! Jimbo had the equally tasty seared tuna and he loved it. Entrees for myself and Jimbo were tagliatelle with veal and bacon-wrapped stuff pork chops with sweet potatoes, respectively. Dessert was good, but not quite chocolate enough for my palette.
Today the UPS guy brought me roses. Wasn't that sweet? I found a card from Jimbo inside and I nearly teared up. Aren't they lovely?
