Jimbo and I had our Valentine's a day early. Neither of us enjoy crowds and since I worked at a restaurant and understand that the food and service are never up to par on a busy holiday, we decided to go it a bit early. What a great choice!
Not only did we beat the holiday rush and had excellent service and food, we also beat the snow! Way to go us!
I should give the credit to Jimbo, though, because he did it all. I didn't even know where we were going until we were about a mile away from our destination. And boy was I happy. Jimbo brought me to the Stonehedge Inn for dinner at Silks for our Valentine's Day. It's exactly what I love - fancy, with white tablecloths, real silver flatware, and a waitstaff of three to call our own. We had a grand old time!
We started out with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot (Jimbo's choice! Woot!) without appetizers, then we sample all four red wines by the glass and had an orgasmic port (Trentadue Chocolate Amore) with dessert.
I had:
Duck Confit with Hazelnut Polenta and Orange Infused Red Cabbage
Jimbo had
Roast Tenderloin of Venison on Glazed Shallots with Pommes Berny, Wild Mushroom Jus
