Last week was a whirlwind and this week isn't much different. There was lots of tying up loose ends and good-bye hugs. I'm going to miss that place.
Sunday I ended up in the Emergency Room with four stitches from cutting potatoes and my left index finger. What a night!
Monday marked my first day in my dream job. I met up with my new boss at her place, met my new lappy and her adorable puppy. Had a lovely conference call, chatted about the job and went about "playing" for the rest of the day. This job involves lots of playing. See why it's my dream job?
The rest of the week I've been working from home. Having conference calls and brainstorming, but mostly playing. It's a huge departure from my last job, where I was very busy with work-work not play-work. I miss the greats peeps, but it's a trade-off. I dreamt about my old job last night. I went in and just kinda showed up like any other day and offered to help but the were all set. They didn't need me.
This week I've also been going out a lot. Met up with Darlene on Monday for first day of work drinks. Then on Tuesday for a huge gab-fest with Krista, Sky and friends. Wednesday was Weight Watchers with mum and we don't even want to go there ;) Last night Jimbo and I caught up with TV and each other.
Now it's Friday and I have planny-plans with Janey-poo. Lucky me!!!!

Jimbo and I had our Valentine's a day early. Neither of us enjoy crowds and since I worked at a restaurant and understand that the food and service are never up to par on a busy holiday, we decided to go it a bit early. What a great choice!
Not only did we beat the holiday rush and had excellent service and food, we also beat the snow! Way to go us!
I should give the credit to Jimbo, though, because he did it all. I didn't even know where we were going until we were about a mile away from our destination. And boy was I happy. Jimbo brought me to the Stonehedge Inn for dinner at Silks for our Valentine's Day. It's exactly what I love - fancy, with white tablecloths, real silver flatware, and a waitstaff of three to call our own. We had a grand old time!
We started out with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot (Jimbo's choice! Woot!) without appetizers, then we sample all four red wines by the glass and had an orgasmic port (Trentadue Chocolate Amore) with dessert.
I had:
Foie Gras on a Cranberry and Pistachio Pancake with Cranberry Sorbet, Sherry Infusion

Duck Confit with Hazelnut Polenta and Orange Infused Red Cabbage
Jimbo had
Panko Crusted Calamari with Tapenade, Salsa and Aioli
Roast Tenderloin of Venison on Glazed Shallots with Pommes Berny, Wild Mushroom Jus
we shared:
Crispy Strawberry Tartlet with White Chocolate Cream and Vanilla Foam
